The Zombie | California

Cheers From California!

Who is ready for happy hour? How about an early Halloween? Here’s another great cocktail to try this Summer, the Zombie.

The Zombie was originally created in Hollywood, California by Donn Beach at his Don the Beach Comer restaurant in 1934. Legend has it, he created the concoction for a hungover customer who returned several days later complaining he turned into a “zombie”for the remainder of his work trip. The drink became popular about five years later when a copy of the Zombie was served at the 1939 New York World’s Fair, and the rest was history. You can thank Donn Beach for your favorite go-to drink at the local tiki bar (where you are most likely limited to two).

Take a sip of your cocktail and start dreaming of California. From Hollywood to Napa Valley to the many scenic stops and national parks in between, we’ll help you visit in person!
